Born and raised in Dresden, Germany, I graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame in December 2006. My first research experience, looking at Grasshopper Predator and Prey Interactions in the Upper Peninsula Michigan (Grasshopper Research), has sparked my fascination for Ecology.

Taking classes, conducting an undergraduate research project studying the effects of genetically modified corn detritus on the stream ecosystem functioning (Stream Biogeochemistry Research), and working as a research technician for Dr. J. Tank and Dr. T. Crowl has funneled my interest towards Stream Ecology.

I have recently started a Masters program with Dr. M. Whiles at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where I am part of the Tropical Amphibian Decline in Streams (TADS) project in Panama. I am determining the potential effect of the amphibian decline on food web dynamics and measuring trophic basis of production in these tropical stream systems.
